Manitowoc, WI- Dissolved Oxygen (DO) in irrigation water is the missing measurement in most greenhouses. Every grower measures EC and pH but rarely looks at DO levels in their irrigation water. However, DO has as much impact on plant growth as the other two measurements. While this measurement is not often taken, growers are aware of the need for oxygen in the root zone. Media type and watering schedules are chosen to help supply oxygen to the roots. Dissolved oxygen in irrigation water is critical to plant growth. Low DO levels will slow growth and high levels will promote growth. Learn about this critical element for growth in our new whitepaper: Dissolved Oxygen in the Greenhouse. Download a copy online.
